| Psychotherapy Training Program: Accreditation
Accreditation
Students are able to apply for Associate Membership of the Australian Association of Somatic Psychotherapists (AASP) on an individual basis while completing their training. This gives access to a professional community of colleagues, professional development opportunities, a yearly conference and professional indemnity insurance. The SPIA training programme meets the educational requirements for full professional membership of the AASP.
The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is a national organisation for counsellors and psychotherapists which has set guidelines regarding standards for both training and the practice of psychotherapy. A national register of practitioners has also been established. SPIA training programmes comply with PACFA guidelines.
